Congratulations to College Station High School (2015) outfielder Ryan Johnson on his selection to the 2013 Texas Area Code roster!
The Area Code Games features the nation's absolute best talent but typically features players who have completed their junior year of high school (Ryan will be a junior next year!). Players attend the Area Code tryouts via invitation only. Participating in the tryout process itself is an honor and an exceptional opportunity as anywhere from 75-125 college coaches from all over the country attend the tryouts in Dallas and Houston.
In 2011 we secured invitations for 4 players. In 2012 we secured invitations for 9 players. This year we had 12 players receive invitations. Yesterday was the first of two tryout dates. Several Twelve players will attend the 2nd tryout in Houston in two weeks.
Twelve players who received invitations this year:
Ryan Johnson was a member of the first Twelve team back in 2006. A coach-able player, Ryan has worked hard and continues to get better. Considered a 5 tool prospect, Ryan's ability on the baseball field and his excellence in the classroom will lead to big opportunities in the near future. Ryan's character and leadership attributes are outstanding representations of his family and of the Twelve program.
